Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, friends,
Good afternoon! The golden autumn sends cool and fruit fragrance flows everywhere.
I am very glad the Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum is being held in beautiful Shanghai, during this great time of harvest. We are also delighted to welcome all the guests from home and abroad.
It will be of great significance for us joining together at the Forum to share insights and experiences on global concerned topics of eco-agriculture and food safety.
With the theme "Food Safety For All", this Forum has Focused on the common concern of global societies, strengthens international exchange and cooperation on food safety, and also strengthens the ties between people in the world.
President Xi Jinping stated that "People are the foundation of the country, and the grain is the life of the people" when he inspected the Chinese agriculture industry.
Agriculture development and food safety is essential to economic development and social stability, as well as to people's health and human well-being.
It is an urgent need and a long-term goal, for developing modernized eco-agriculture, deepening grain study and promotion, solving food safety problems and improving the development of the high-quality dairy industry.
The Chinese government attaches great importance to international cooperation on eco-agriculture and food safety, and is willing to provide China's solutions and wisdom to the countries along the “Belt and Road”, to promote international governance of food safety and share ideas and practices among China and “Belt and Road” countries.
It is encouraging to see China and "Belt and Road" countries have carried out a lot of substantial cooperation and have achieved breakthrough progress in grain cultivation and processing, food trade and other related aspects.
The Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum has been successfully held for 12 sessions.
The Forum has provided an excellent platform for exchanges and cooperation for government, business and academic circles along the "Belt and Road" countries in related fields.
It has played a positive role in strengthening international cooperation in eco-agriculture and food safety.
I have witnessed the development and great achievements made by the Forum, over the past few years. At the same time, I hope that more “Belt and Road” countries will follow the Spirit of the Silk Road - "Peace and Cooperation, Openness and Inclusiveness, Mutual Learning and Mutual Benefit", promote cooperation and trust adhering to the concept of friendly, sincere, mutual beneficial and inclusiveness, and make sustained efforts to build a community with a shared future for mankind, on the international stage of CIIE.
Lastly, wish the 13
th Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum a great success!
Thank you!
