Chen Yingrang, Chief Executive Officer of Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp., delivered a speech

Esteemed Vice Commissioner Tian Shihong, Vice Mayor Chen Jie, Secretary-General Zhang Ming,
Respected leaders, experts, industry colleagues, and media friends,

Good morning! I am honored to represent the food industry and gather here in Shanghai during the CIIE, sharing Master Kong’s experiences in food safety, nutrition and health, and sustainable development at the Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum.

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasizes: ‘To build a modern socialist country in all respects, we must, first and foremost, pursue high-quality development.,’ and the high-quality development of the food industry is closely related to two key words: ‘safety’ and ‘health.’

As a Chinese national brand deeply rooted in the food field for over 30 years, Master Kong, under the supervision and guidance of market regulatory authorities at all levels, strictly follows the ‘four strictest’ principles, actively fulfills corporate responsibilities, firmly safeguards food safety, and maintains a ‘zero tolerance’ attitude towards food safety issues. We continuously enhance our product quality and food safety management level, striving to produce high-quality convenience food that satisfies and reassures the public. In this process, Master Kong not only strengthens its food safety capabilities but also comprehensively promotes the enhancement of food safety and technological standards in the entire industry.

For a long time, the Party and the government have been highly concerned about the safety and health of the people. The ‘Healthy China 2030 Planning Outline’, promulgated in September 2016, fully reflects the high importance the Central Committee of the Party and the State Council place on national health. As a Chinese food company, Master Kong has the responsibility and obligation to promote industry upgrading through innovative exploration, accelerate the transformation towards nutritional and healthy products, and contribute to the realization of the Healthy China goal. After years of practice and exploration, Master Kong has gradually formed a technological innovation system that encompasses food technology basic research, food safety technology, food nutrition technology, product development, and innovation. We have established close cooperation with renowned domestic universities and research institutions, effectively promoting the integration of industry, academia, and research in the food industry and accelerating the pace of scientific and technological innovation. We developed low-sugar/no-sugar tea beverages to improve the nutritional health status of the public; we added a rich variety of ingredients like grains, beans, vegetables, and meat to instant noodles, retaining their nutrients and flavors through technological innovation. This promotes the nutritional and health upgrade of convenience food, meeting the growing needs of the people for a better life.

In line with the development philosophy of ‘Evergreen Homeland, Health is a Blessing,’ Master Kong, in partnership with the United Nations Global Compact, expands its international vision and accelerates sustainable development capacity building. We explore paths for high-quality sustainable development and provide a Chinese model that can be referenced globally for sustainable development.

Master Kong looks forward to leveraging the high-end platforms of the CIIE and the Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum to strengthen exchanges with government departments, industry associations, research institutions, peers, and media friends. We aim to deepen all-round cooperation, jointly enhance food safety levels, and better safeguard the ‘safety of every bite of food’ for the public. To achieve this goal, Master Kong will forge ahead, continue to undertake the social responsibility and innovation mission of a national brand, and lead China's food industry towards higher quality development with continuous technological innovation.

Finally, I wish this forum great success, prosperity, and good health to all guests!
Thank you.

The theme of the forum is, ‘Deepening the Belt and Road Cooperation in Agriculture and Food: Jointly Creating a Better Life for Humanity.’ Leaders from the State Administration for Market Regulation, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Health Commission, General Administration of Customs, as well as leaders from Shanghai, Henan, Hainan, and other provincial governments, representatives of provincial market supervision departments, representatives of relevant United Nations organizations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and embassies of South Africa, the Netherlands, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, Tanzania, Senegal, among others, along with over 400 delegates from domestic and international enterprises, participated in the forum. Guests collectively deliberated on agricultural cooperation and food industry development, contributing insights and strategies for the high-quality development of agriculture and food industries in the Belt and Road Initiative, highlighting the role of the forum as a platform for policy interpretation.

2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum. Over the past decade, the forum has been successfully held for 15 sessions within the framework of the National Food Safety Publicity Week and the China International Import Expo. The forum has solidly promoted high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, extensively conducted exchanges and cooperation in the agricultural and food industries, played a significant role in the development and safety of agricultural food industries in the countries along the route, and facilitated smooth international trade among the Belt and Road countries.
