2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the inception of the Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum. Over the past decade, under the auspices of the China Food Safety Publicity Week and the China International Import Expo, the Forum has been successfully held for fifteen consecutive years. The forum has steadfastly advanced in high-quality development of the Belt and Road, fostering profound exchanges and collaborations in the agricultural and food industries, and imparting a positive impact on the development of countries along the Belt and Road. In order to promote and implement President Xi Jinping’s significant discourses and guiding principles on Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety, to continually propel the collaborative development of the Belt and Road Initiative, accentuate high-quality international collaboration in the realm of agriculture and food, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, the 16th Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum, co-hosted by the State Administration for Market Regulation and relevant authorities, is scheduled to be held on November 6th, 2023 in Shanghai as a supporting activity of the 6th China International Import Expo.

With the theme ‘Deepening the Belt and Road Cooperation in Agriculture and Food: Jointly Creating a Better Life for Humanity’, the forum mainly includes an opening ceremony, keynote speech, and theme forums. The forum will extend invitations to domestic and foreign dignitaries, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Nobel laureates, international organizations, Institutions in China, Chambers of Commerce, Associations as well as representatives of entrepreneurs to engage in discussions and exchanges around the forum’s themes and topics.
